SS 95

Solar System 95:
the perfect solution for sunshading, cladding or visual barrier

Why sun protection?
Buildings with large glazed facades can experience considerable problems with excessive heat gain and "glare" at times of intense sunlight.
The effects of solar radiation on the external surfaces of a building can be controlled by the use of external shading which can also reduce the effects of "glare" whilst not restricting the views through the glazing.

The Solar System 95 (SS 95)
SS 95 is an external aluminium brise soleil system that restricts thermal gain and controls sunlight glare to the façade of a building. The system can be used as sunshading, cladding or as a visual barrier.
The system consists of extruded C-Shaped blades blades mounted to a fixed structure. The sunshading system can be placed either horizontally or vertically to achieve the desired shading effect. Placed vertically it is ideal as sunshading for east or west facades or as a visual barrier.
This type of Brise Soleil is ideally suited to buildings with straight sides.

Cost Efficiency
Cooling is a very signifi cant and important consumer of energy in buildings. By using the SS 95 system the costs of cooling can be considerably reduced and in some cases completely eliminated.

Positioning of the sunshading system

Depending on the application and use of the Brise Soleil the SS 95 can be positioned either horizontally or vertically.

SS 95 Horizontally positioned blades
When the blades are used in the horizontal position they are usually fixed beneath the mullions with plastic clips (available in black or grey) or aluminium supports (which can be finished in the same RAL colour as the blades).
However, if required, the SS 95 horizontal blades do offer the option of being positioned above the mullions.

SS 95 Vertically positioned blades
Positioned vertically the SS 95 system is ideal for sunshading on east or west facing facades. It is also the ideal solution for the complete cladding of some facades or alternatively as a visual barrier to restrict views into a building.

Technical description of the SS 95 blades

Material and pitch of the blades
Extruded sections of aluminium AIMgSI 0,5. 100 mm is the standard pitch of the blades. Other pitches are possible depending on the application of the blade.

Finish
Standard finishes are silver anodised (15-20 micron) and RAL 9010 (60-80 micron). Any RAL colour is available on request.

Fixing of Blades
Depending on the application different options are available to fix the blades.
  • UV resistant blade support
  • Aluminium support
  • Screwed between end caps

Inclination of the blade
For horizontal shading, the inclination of the blade is a standard 60°. In the vertical application, the blades are normally positioned under 45°. Depending on the application, other angles are possible.
